Ever since the accident that took her father from her, Vanya has been stuck in limbo and prohibited from crossing over to the other side. As a psychopomp, it’s her responsibility to lead the newly dead to the afterlife, but it’s a role that she hates.

 

She’s working for the advocates - the immortal custodians. They are divided into two completely separate and totally distinct sects, but Vanya can only belong to one of them.
